Best Android Games #13: Switch

Plenty of gamers on the internet have been raving about developer Playbox’s new title Switch, a modern update on the Tomytronic 3D racing genre for Android. There’s a track, but instead of fumbling about with crappy motion controls and vague steering mechanisms, all you do is tap left and right to switch between the rails and avoid obstacles.

So instead of “driving” you flip between tracks, avoiding barriers and other racers, trying to last as long as possible as it gradually speeds up. There’s even OpenFeint support for sharing your performance online.

It’s fantastic and works very well on touch screens because the sides you touch are usually just empty so there’s no fussing about. A great game that really suits the hardware and mobile format. Get it. It’s here and free and works on most modern-ish Android phones.
