The Cedar Grove Library has added Wii games to
its collection. The games may be checked out for one week and card
holders may take out up to six games at one time. Games include
Mario Brothers, Starts Wars and Nicktoons.
The Cedar Grove Public Library Board of
Trustees will hold its annual meeting which involves election of
officers and its regular monthly meeting at 3 p.m. on Thursday,
Feb. 9, in the Director’s Office of the Library. The public is
welcome to attend.
To recognize February, the month when we
celebrate Valentine’s Day, the Cedar Grove Library invites patrons
to take part in a Blind date with a Book, or other materials as
well. Pick up a wrapped book, audiobook and/or DVD and take it out
without peeking inside. Each book or media item includes a slip on
which we encourage the patron to “rate your date”.
The movie “Sarah’s Key” will be shown at 1 p.m.
on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
A quilling workshop is offered at 1 p.m. on
Wednesdays.
Quilling is the art of rolling, shaping and
gluing strips of paper to make designs and pictures.
The workshop is free.
“Tween Tuesday” is scheduled for
3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, for those between the ages of 8-12.
Children are invited to come to the library and make
their own wallets out of duct tape.
Cedar Readers Book Club I will meet at 11 a.m.,
Friday, Feb. 17 to discuss “In the Garden of the Beasts” by Erik
Larson. Coffee will be served at 10:45 a.m.
Cedar Readers Book Club II will meet at 6:30
p.m., Thursday, Feb. 16, to discuss “Private Life” by Jane
Smiley.
The Culinary Club will next meet from 6:30 to 8
p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21. The theme will be “Movie Night—Foods from a
Movie.”
Attendees should bring copies of recipes based
on the theme to be shared and discussed among members or submit
recipes on www.cookingcedargrove.com.
New members are welcome. Meetings occur during
the third week of each month.
The Library will be closed Monday, Feb. 20 in
observance of Presidents’ Day.
R.E.A.L.I.S.E. will hold a storytime at 10 a.m.
on Saturday, Feb. 25. Join R.E.A.L.I.S.E. a special
Saturday story time held at the library geared towards families
with special needs children. All families are welcome.
A scrapbooking workshop will be held at 6:30 on
Monday, Feb. 27. Scrapbookers of all skill levels are welcome.
Attendees should bring there own materials such as scissors, glue,
pictures/photos.
The film “Gasland” will be shown
at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28. The film is presented by The Cedar
Grove Environmental Commission. The focus of the film is on
American-rural landowners who wake up one day to find a lucrative
offer from an energy company wanting to lease their
property. 107 Minutes.
The Saturday morning Qi Gong class held at the
Cedar Grove Public Library will resume at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday,
March 17.
The Knitting Clubs meet every week on Mondays
and Thursdays.
The Stitch-In Club meets from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.
on Monday and the Knitting Knitch meets from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
every Thursday.
All levels of expertise are welcome.
Bring/create your own project by bringing a pair of
knitting/crochet needles and yarn. Beginners can get help from the
others in the group.
Registration is not required.
Bridge Clubs have been formed and the members
meet every week from 10 a.m. to noon on Mondays, and at 1 p.m.
Tuesdays.
All levels are welcome to join.
