As you prepare to shop for Christmas gifts on Black Friday, you may be longing for the days when all your child wanted was a new Barbie doll or action figure. But, as seems to be the natural course for every family, as your kids turn into teens, the gifts they want become much pricier. If your teen has his or her heart set on an iPod, Xbox, Playstation 3 or Nintendo DS, luckily for you, there are some good deals to be found in St. Louis for Black Friday 2011.
If tunes are what your teen is after, the Black Friday ads are filled with deals for the iPod Touch. Across St. Louis, it seems the pricing between retailers is fairly similar, however. The clincher on the deal seems to be that each store is offering a free gift card with your iPod Touch purchase, so the best way to plan your Black Friday shopping may be to decide which store’s gift card would really come in handy in the month ahead, or even after Christmas when there are lots of markdowns.
The 8GB iPod Touch deals you can find locally are:
Toys R Us – $199.99 with free $50 gift card
Target - $195 with free $40 gift card
Best Buy – $194 with free $50 gift card
Walmart – $195 – no gift card offered
If you decide to shop at Best Buy, you can also snag a $100 iTunes gift card for $80 Thursday through Saturday. Or, if you’d rather avoid the big crowds, Walgreens is also offering a $30 bundle pack of iTunes gift cards (three $10 cards) with a bonus $10 Walgreens gift card.
For those of you who have teens who prefer gaming, you’ll have your choice of where to stand in line to get the Xbox 360 Live, Playstation 3 or Nintendo DS as well.
Beginning at 12:00 a.m. Friday, Target will offer the 4G Xbox 360 game system for $139.99, regularly $199.99.
Target’s Nintendo DS with Super Mario 3D Land bundle is $179.99
Beginning at 10:00 p.m. Thanksgiving night and running through 12:00 a.m. Saturday , Walmart’s sale will include a free $50 Walmart gift card with 4G Xbox 360 purchase for $199.96. The Xbox 360 bundle at Walmart includes the Kinect Adventures! game, a wireless controller, composite AV cable and 1 month Xbox Live Gold Membership.
Walmart also has a Playstation 3 bundle which includes wireless controller, Little Big Planet 2 Special Edition, Ratchet Clank: All 4 One and a 30 day Playstation Plus membership. The cost is $199.96.
Beginning at 12:00 a.m. Friday, the Xbox 360 will be on sale at Best Buy as well. Best Buy’s Xbox 360 bundle includes a wireless headset and controller plus Halo:Reach, Fable III and 3 months Xbox Live gold membership token. At Best Buy you’ll pay $199.99, a $100 savings off their regular price of $299.99.
Best Buy’s Playstation 3 bundle is the same as Walmart’s, but the price is $199.00.
Best Buy gives you a choice of Nintendo DS bundles, one with the Super Mario 3D Land game, the other with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time game. Either will cost you $179.99.
Toys R Us will have the Xbox Live with Kinect for $199.99 plus a free $10 gift card. This offer is good from midnight Thursday through Saturday at 11:00 p.m.

As your kids reach an age where toys turn into gadgets and electronics, Black Friday sales are the best time to pick up the Christmas gifts they want and still have some savings left over for stocking stuffers.
As you head out shopping, the weather forecast in St. Louis for Thursday night and Friday morning has the temperature hovering right around 50 degrees. So, with just a light coat, you should be ready to snatch up some Black Friday deals and enjoy some pleasant weather for your shopping marathon.
