Announced today by Dungeon Fighter Online community representative Justin Wong on Twitter, the ever controversial fatigue point system will be leaving DFO when the Act X patch, Rebirth, comes this summer.
Not only will Rebirth feature the all new thief class, but players will be able to dungeon crawl until their heart’s content on a single character for the first time in Dungeon Fighter Online history.
Fatigue points limit a player to completing a certain number of dungeon rooms per day, essentially a cap on time spent on a single character (Other characters can be created/played when your fatigue bar is drained).
Some players think it was important to have a fatigue mechanic to discourage botting and gold farming, and are concerned that this new addition to DFO will cause problems with the game economy.
Other players are absolutely ecstatic about the announcement, as there will no longer be any restrictions to keep players from running whatever they wish without having to calculate the maximum experience gains for a day’s played time.
The lack of a fatigue system should encourage more party play as well, since players will be less concerned about gleaning every drop of experience out of a solo run – they can always just run another one since there won’t be a cap.
With the removal of Fatigue Points comes Blitz Points – the details are not known, but it actually appears there could be some sort of benefit offered for running more rooms and dungeons during a day.
There are other big announcements coming down the pipe for the Rebirth patch, scheduled to be released on June 1st and June 15th – prepare for a whole new DFO experience.
