EA has taken the wraps off The Sims 3: Pets, a new stand-alone game for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo 3DS and an expansion pack for the PC.
Players will be able to create, customise and control over a hundred different kinds of cats and dogs, even breeding and sharing them with friends to create new breeds.
The Xbox 360 version will allow you to control your pets and Sims by voice commands, a first for the Sims franchise. On the other hand 3DS gamers will be able to track their movements using the built-in pedometer, racking up Karma Points as they walk, and gifting pets to other players with StreetPass.
Meanwhile PC gamers will be able to enjoy an exclusive option with horses, use them as transport or raise and train them to race and jump hurdles.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 Limited Editions of the game will include new breeds (including a dog tiger retriever, a dog panda chow and a cat skunk birman) while PC gamers will be able to mingle in the exclusive pet store.
“The Sims 3 Pets marks the biggest undertaking in our franchise’s history, melding the best of The Sims 3 with an even deeper player experience with the addition of pets,” said Scott Evans, General Manager of The Sims Studio. “For the first time ever, players will be able to play as their pets and see life through their eyes.”
The Sims 3: Pets is currently slated for a Fall 2011 release date.
