Thor: God of Thunder is a licensed game set to match the release of
the new Thor movie. Like most licensed games, Thor has some issues
with glitchy animation and graphics and can be a bit repetitive at
times. However, it does do some things right, like combat and unlockable
goodies, which makes this game worth a look, especially for comic book
fans.
God-like
Loki once again tricks Thor, this time convincing him to attack other
planets, which opens up a bunch of problems. Luckily, it’s nothing that
Thor can’t handle with a few whacks of his hammer! The game is essentially
all about the combat. You can push the A button for basic combos, waggle for
power moves, and also summon lightning.
The combat system is easy to learn and fun to use. You can use the control
stick to change your offensive tactic immediately, which helps a lot when
fighting a large group. There are quite a few different moves that you can use
and you can unlock even more. However, the basic one-two combo works well enough
for most of the game and you will probably end up using your experience points
on extra health and magical abilities.

Stealing Thunder
Being able to handle many enemies at once really makes you feel like a god. However,
because the combat can be so easy, the game will start to feel repetitive early
on. For the majority of the game, you will run down a hallway, fight, and repeat.
The boss battles, however, are very impressive. Each boss fight is
different from the last and gets cooler and better as you progress through the game.
The Wii version of the game has simpler graphics than the PS3 and 360 versions. Even
then, the game can lag and stutter at parts, which is a bit annoying during big fights.
Overall, Thor is better than most licensed games, but still has some issues. A great game
for fans.
